Hi,

reading various comments on line re potential axle damage using chains on front wheels . For snow removal is this something I should be concerned about ? Purchasing chains from Kubota dealer no indication from them it would be an issue . Comments welcomed ,

On any 4x4 once you break something you quickly find out just how expensive having a front axle which drives can be.
Tire chains, unless you buy the almost continuous Swedish ones, provide a pulsing form of traction which can be hard on the drive line.
As an alternative I would consider the screw in style of tire stud which are placed on every tread bar and thus provide a smooth assist.
They are very durable and can be removed and then re-installed the following years.
