Hello all, brand new here. I have a 2016 B2620 - appx 350 hrs. The fuel gauge stopped working a couple of months ago. I've combed through this forum, YouTube, Google, etc and I cannot find a single video or article about repairing or replacing the fuel sensor. Anyone had any experience with this on the B-series? I was curious if the sensor can be removed and cleaned instead of replaced. $150 for a new unit seems kind of steep to me. Appreciate in advance for any input.

Fuel gauge circuits are pretty straight forward if you have the analog gauge. 12v power goes to the gauge first, then the other wire goes from the gauge through the sender to ground. Low resistance, more current, gauge goes up toward full. High resistance, less current, gauge goes low.

Is your gauge failed high or low? Ground the wire at the sender, the gauge should go high. Remove the wire at the sender, the gauge should go empty. The fuel senders are pretty bad about losing ground due to corrosion. Only after checking this out should you buy a new sender.

How do you know it is the sender, not wiring or gauge??

I'm not sure about your gauge, but normally you can ground the wire going to the sending unit quickly and see if it shows full on the gauge. If it goes full you probably have an issue with the sending unit. Don't do it too long unless you use a resistor though...
