Hi guys, hope you can give me some advice. I have a B2400 with 1100 hrs. It recently has become hard to start when cold (not below 40F). Suspected possible glow plugs and got 1.9 ohms on all 3 with cheaper VOM. Battery voltage tested 13.1. Tested voltage at plugs in preheat position and got 9.3 volts. Could it be the starter switch? Don't want to get in to glow plug replacement. The exact same resistance on all 3 leads me to believe they all 3 can't be bad. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. As always, god bless all and be safe.

Tell us how you did the resistance check on the GP's. Did you disconnect the wires to each GP so that you were only measuring each GP to ground?

Expanding on what Dave asked - the glow plugs are wired in parallel so if any one measures good the reading will be the same even if two are open. That is why you disconnect and measure each individually. The voltage is probably correct or close to it. I think glow plugs are a nominal 10.5 volts so they should warm up fine at 9.3.

No I didn't separate and take individual readings. Sounds logical, I'll give that a try. Thanks for the advice. Are gp dificult to remove, likely to be siezed? Service manual says should ohm at .9,does that seam correct? Also says voltage at glow plugs should be same as battery. Don't get the 3-4v drop. Just don't want to throw parts at it. Thanks again, I'll test next week after turkey hunting.
