I have a B2400 tractor that I am at whits end on with an issue that I am having. When the tractor runs at any RPM above 2000 for more than 5 minutes the tractor begins to starve for fuel. I have replaced the complete fuel filter assembly with a brand new unit. I also installed a new fuel filter at the same time. I have completely drained the fuel tank and done a visual inspection. All of the fuel delivery lines are clear of any obstruction(s).
The fuel filter bowl will be full of fuel for about 5 minutes after start up then slowly the level will drop in the bowl until there is just about 1/2" of fuel above the bottom of the fuel filter element. You can see incoming fuel being delivered from the tank as it barely drips down the inside of the fuel filter bowl. The funny thing is this. You can take the fuel shut off cock on the filter housing and turn it to the off position then back to the on position. Immediately the fuel filter bowl begins to refill with fuel from the tank to completely fill the bowl. This works for about 5 minutes then the process has to be repeated again. I thought I had an air leak in the old filter housing so I bought a new one and installed it. That did not fix the issue obviously. I have also checked all of the fuel overflow rubber hoses that return from the fuel filter housing, high pressure pump, and injectors to the tank. They are clear of any obstruction best I can tell as well. I have removed the fuel tank cap to make sure the tank isn't being pressurized or isn't under a vacuum. That did not help with this issue either. All of the main supply and over flow lines appear to be in good shape with no leaks detected.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on this? I have been working on cars/tractors for years and this one has me absolutely stumped.
