On my B6000 "basket case" project I've progressed to the point I bought oils today. Still a long way to go on the project, but at least it feels good to be thinking about putting in oil!

Before I put the oils in though, I thought it would be wise to get inputs from the experienced folks on this site, to avoid "doing something dumb"!

The manual for the B219 loader states to use "10W30 MS engine oil or an equivalent Type F Automotive Automatic Transmission Fluid." Type F Auto trans fluid isn't commonly available here anymore, so I'm planning on using SuperTech 10W30 motor oil. Please let me know if that isn't a good choice.

While I'm at it, I should also mention that I'm planning on using Shell Rotella-T 15W40 oil in the engine and Shell Rotella Tractor Fluid for the transmission and 3 point hitch as well as the front axle differential and gear cases. Please also let me know if those aren't good choices.

I've read a lot on this site about oil choices, but I couldn't seem to find them before I headed to Walmart, so your patience is begged.

Thanks for the help,

Gordon

I think the Rotella oil is good quality, and should be fine for your motor. If I were you I'd just use a good Kubota UDT or SUDT qualified oil for your loader/tranny. I'd use 80-90 gear lube for your front diff and gear cases. The UDT/SUDT will provide you with better functionality with cooler temps.

Well, youv'e got me stumped. Do you have a seperate hyd pump for the FEL?

Mine uses the gear oil from the rear gear case, which is piped up to the hyd pump, then it goes to the FEL. the return goes back into the gear case.

How exactly is yours powered? do you have a front mounted hyd pump? or a rear PTO pump?

If yours uses the original hyd pump then you just use 90wt gear oil, or the UDT/ SUDT oil from kubota. I use the regular stuff from autozone. its cheaper, and at the rate my FEL seals leak, I have to add twice a year anyway!

My FEL has a separate pump driven off the front of the engine, with the hydraulic oil supply in the "right hand upright post" where the loader arms attach with pins. The hydraulic control valve is also mounted on the same upright. The oil supply is totally separate from the trans/diff/3 point hitch. The manual for the B219 loader specifies "10W30 MS" oil (I'm guessing MS means "motor service"). Since I don't have a lot of confidence in the manual I'm eager to get expert advice on what really works best.

Thanks
