Today I needed to make some good time covering ground, and for the first time really used the tractor in high range high gear. First starting out I noticed it seemed to not want to get under way. Motor didn't bog, it just didn't lurch as expected coming up on the clutch. After a few trips back and forth, it was clearly slipping and didn't want to accelerate. Again, no motor bog, just acting as if I was feathering the clutch. In the end, I was having to start in second and get 'er rolling good, then shift to third, like driving a car.

So, sound like a clutch? Being completely unloaded except for FEL and forks with pallet to carry the stuff that prompted the use to start with, I felt it should easily start in 3-Hi without problems. My ancient MF certainly did. At the very least, it should bog/stall the motor.

I hope there is some other explanation, but I see doing my first tractor split in my near future... :(

The clutch should be able to be adjusted. If you have WSM then consult it. Or something about the adjustment may be found with an Internet search.

You don't mention the hours on the tractor. If you use a FEL a lot or slip the clutch then 2000 hours is about the limit before replacement.

Check the pedal adjustment also and the linkage. On some Kubotas there is a lube point on the linkage.
