Just bought this and am looking for some help as to what's actually supposed to be here. Pretty sure I can fabricate a mounting plate but want to make sure I'm as close to OEM (or better if I can get recommendations) as I can get. Am currently having zero luck finding either a diagram or pictures of this area. TIA.

That is the remnants of the old seat pan.
A few pieces of flat bar welded in a U-shape will do it. Bolt to seat, and bolt or weld to hinges.
Did this on my G5200.

Thanks for the pic, it's exactly what I was looking for and hoping to get. Maybe once I get that done, the 3 point hitch will stop pushing my seat up, lol. That...and I need to find a better seat. This one looks like it's from an old riding mower.
