I recently purchased a Kubota B1750 and don't know a lot about tractors. This one only had 990 hours but I have come to find that it was NOT maintained. Currently have two issues and would welcome any advice. Main issue: Tractor ran great and had plenty of power for about first 5 hours I used it then next time I started it, it has lost power. Only runs up to about 2200 to 2400 rpms and bogs down easily. I have changed to fuel filter (which looked like it had never been changed before and was really clogged) but did not help the running issue. Any suggestions what I should try next?

Second issue. Hydraulics. Front loader after few minutes becomes slow and loses power. (same for rear lift). I have changed the fluid which was a mess and had some water in it. (changed it twice as I missed he two drains on the rear axle the first time) but again, not much if any difference. This issue was present even when tractor ran great. My model, not the hydrostatic, does not have a filter but I changed the screen. The front bucket is usable but no where what it should be. The rear lift will lift my tiller when first started but 5 minutes later won't lift it to clear the ground all the way. Again any suggestions would be helpful as I don't really know what I am doing.

Re: B1750 issues. Loos of power and seperate issue of loss of hydraulic power and spe

For the power issue, it sounds as if your fuel system needs a thorough cleaning from the fuel tank to the injection pump. Disconnect the fuel filter and the line where it attaches to the injection pump. Then blow compressed air through the filter base back to the fuel tank. Do not blow compressed air through the injection pump. It's also a good idea to not blow compressed air through a fuel pump. Most likely cause is trash in the fuel tank blocking the fuel line. So the fuel tank will need to be cleaned as well. You'll have to bleed the fuel system completely after to get all the air out of the lines.

On your hydraulics, check the intake line to the hydraulic pump. They may have a rubber hose clamped on there. If so, a hair line crack or pin hole could cause the pump to suck some air through the system causing your hydraulics to get weak. That's the cheap fix. If it's not there, then it sounds like an issue with the hydraulic pump. Other members can help with the hydraulics :D

Most likely both issues are caused by the same problem, the hydraulic system is dead heading, and overheating.
It's usually caused by the three point control, and / or the three point feed back linkage being out of adjustment.
Try moving the three point control to the center and see if everything runs normally.

If it does, get the WSM and it will walk you through adjusting the linkages to get it to operate normally. ;)

Thanks, Darren. Back blowing the fuel line worked like a charm. Runs great now. Any idea how hard a job it is to remove the fuel tank so I won't have the same problem again.

Thanks again,
Billy

Thanks also to ToolJunkie and wolfman. I checked the air filter and good to go.

Wolfman, I will try the middle position and I downloaded the service manual.

Thanks again.
