Hi all,
I have a B1500,serial #10395.Checked tractor data and it appears to have been produced 1980/82.I downloaded a pdf service manual Kubota B1200/B1400/B1500/B1600/B1702/B1902 .
But the only part in there that looks remotely like mine is the engine.
By the gear stick is a filler hole on the left and a dipstick on the right.
I have a problem that the rotavator sinks after a while. Was told to add oil and clean my filter.
The manual doesnt tell what sort of oil to add, just if you have a 4wd model the front wheel bearings require EP90.
Using my powers of deduction, there is a large bore pipe that runs from under the gearbox to a pump that piggybacks of the diesel pump, there is a smaller bore pipe that runs back to the Hydraulic levers box.

My main question is what oil should i use?
Is the same oil used by,transmission, gearbox, rear axle and hydraulics?
Where would the filter be located?

It does say in the manual that capacity is 17L.
To my horror when i pulled the dipstick,no oil! Opened the filler, shone my torch in and also no oil!:eek::(
I have been searching the net for a decent manual/handbook to no availle.

Thanks in advance, all help and advice welcome.

Did you check through the Gray section of this forum. My quick look only shows the B1500 as a Japanese model but I am not an expert in the Gray area.

Typically the hydraulics and gear box share the same fluid.

The "filter" is likely a suction screen where the large diameter tube enters the transmission case.

Thanks for the reply Dave,
Yes all the labels are in Japanese,so its a grey import.
Do you know what fluid is good?

From reading through material of similar year USA Kubota's, the recommendation is to now use Kubota UDT fluid for transmission and front axle which in effect covers everything except the engine. The original manuals would not have mentioned UDT.

My best friend's parents came from Hungary during the revolution in 1956. Can you tell me more specifically where you live
