I would take the fan belt off and start it momentarily, and see, without the dynamo and idler pulley turning, if the noise is still there or not. Then, you can at least isolate the issue. Running it like that should be ok, since it doesn't use a water pump.

My B7100 did the same thing, without any warning upon starting there was a high pitched noise coming from the front of the engine. During the 20 + years I owned it this happened twice and both times it was the idler pulley bearing that caused the noise. Replaced the bearing (fairly cheap at dealer) and everything was fine. You can spray some type of penetrating oil on the bearing while the engine is idling and see if the noise goes away or at least quietens down some. Once I sprayed the bearing on mine the noise completely stopped so I could continue to use the tractor while the dealer ordered the bearing. It is a sealed bearing but when I replaced the bearing the old one had no signs of any grease left in it, it was rusty inside the bearing. I hope this helps...

I would go ahead and replace the fan belt while you have the pulley loose, if you haven't replaced it recently because it is a tight area to work in.
