Air Pressure?

My B2650 manual says the pressure should be 20# rear and front 35#, these are R4s. On the tires it gives these values as max pressure. Before I put on my rubber chains I checked and the rear was 17.5 and the front was 29. I have never run the max on any tire before so wanted to check and see what other folks are running compared to max.
Installed the rubber chains, now need to test them in the snow. Today was like summer, had to take off my sweatshirt and was working in just a tee shirt and it is almost Christmas.

Unless I have a lotttttt of FEL work, I run my front end about 5 psi below max - only shocks you have are the tires, so I like a little softer ride.

I would lower my rears, place chains on them - then bump the psi back up to "normal" - this way the chains pull tight around the tires.

I used those rubber bungie straps for a while, until the winter cold caused them to snap.
I got a cheap set of ratchet straps from walmart, cut off almost all of the excess and used those, as the chains stretch, I give it another click!

So I am actually in the norm as far as pressure, good to know. I did deflate the tires to put the chains on and just pumped them up to where they were originally instead of max.
Good idea about the ratchet straps, the rubber ones do tend to deteriorate over time. I also have some spring type tighteners that I use on my ATV chains, may try them on these just to see how they do.

I was curious about the air pressures as well. I just took delivery last week and set the rears at 17lbs (with backhoe) and fronts at 32. Both still look over inflated.

The suggestion I believe is to measure the width of the tread vs the width of your contact patch and go from there.

Did you set it or did the dealer? 17.5 does seem plenty, no noticeable flex even with several hundred pounds of blade and weights.

I did. It was delivered with 19 lbs in the rears and 32 in fronts

I have a L series and run 14 in the R4 rears with or without the bh77. NO LIQUID just air year round. I pull a finish mower most of the summer and did not want the extra weight. When the loader is on I run the fronts at 35. Loader off same as others 20-25psi. If I do not want a implement in the way on the rear when using the loader I have a 3pt bar I made that carries 12- 100lbs tractor weights for balance.
