Looks great to me - I guess the question would be how it would stand up the constant start and stop and the torque loads pulling the mower (and me) up a hill...
Ok, I think we may have hit upon the underlying problem here. You know that's not a riding mower right? <lol>

Well I have been trying to keep my weight down...
I think the mower finds it a little easier to climb hills than I do these days so it seems like I am being pulled along, for the record...

For those interested in playing at home, I sent AndyH a 3D printed pulley in carbon-fiber reinforced nylon:

He installed it:

and reports the initial brief test was successful.

Longer duration testing to follow, but it's promising...

Yup sure did and I like it - nice and smooth in the short test I did. I would post the video but I am not that smart (yet).

I don't think you can post a video here, or even a self-hosted video. I couldn't figure out how anyway. I think the only way is to host it on YouTube or similar and then post a link to that.

EDIT: I opened a free account with vimeo.

Let's try this:

Ah, got it. Third time's the charm.

Good work - I saw the vimeo option on my editor but didn't want to go there (I know nothing about it but apparently I should)

To close the loop on this I have now run two trials of the pulley Torch did up which included "the hill". Pulley handled everything without issue including pulling the lawnmower with a full bag of wet grass up the hill.

Only time will tell how long it will last, but I would like to recommend the Torch pulley manufacturing company to anyone in need,

"Twice 'round the park" as it were. I suspect the OEM pulley lasted at least that long too. <lol>

I'll be a little more confident if it lasts a season or two. But it was a fun little project and marks the first time I ever designed a replacement part over the internet. ;-)
