Remove covers from left and right pulleys
remove L bracket from one side of gear box
Pry spring off with a flathead screwdriver
Loosen but do no remove the tensioner arm to get the belt off. you put a socket on each side of the deck and it unscrews easily.
Remove old belt nothing how it routes
Put the new belt on except for on the one end pulley
Tighten the tensioner arm
Here is the better bit:
Put the spring back on making sure the end of the spring is away from the belt
Put a ratcheting cargo strap (short) from the hole in the tensioner arm and over to the grass chute. The hooks need to be small enough to fit in the tensioner arm hole
About 6 clicks pulls the arm all the way back to the gear box
You can now put the belt on the final pulley with ease
Release the ratcheting strap.
You could kill yourself trying to pull the spring in place with the belt on.
