Well I bit the bullett and bought "Kobuta" filters cause it seems the kids they have working in the parts stores are dumber than a box of rocks. Ahhhh a Kubota oil filter,, is that a GM?
Anyway anybody thats riden the old HD's always checked the filters for stuff that did belong there and its an old habbit, so I cut open the oil filter and the hydrolic filter,, Good Lord almighty dont they wash the insides of this stuff out before they put it together? The oil filter looked like it has been on for a couple hundred hours instead of 50, and the other one well it wasnt to much better and the tranmision screen I hate to think of what would have happend if that crap went through the pump. OK I'm all done whining now, I don't know what I was expecting when I cut them open, but i don't think it was this.

I guess so, but I'm with you, they should be cleaning them out better when they build them! There is an interesting bulletin out from Kubota recently about failure of engine oil pressure sending units from contamination and a procedure to flush the engine so it doesn't fail again! If I remember right it applies to the basic L series. I don't have dealerlink in front of me right now to be sure though.
