Well I bit the bullett and bought "Kobuta" filters cause it seems the kids they have working in the parts stores are dumber than a box of rocks. Ahhhh a Kubota oil filter,, is that a GM?
Anyway anybody thats riden the old HD's always checked the filters for stuff that did belong there and its an old habbit, so I cut open the oil filter and the hydrolic filter,, Good Lord almighty dont they wash the insides of this stuff out before they put it together? The oil filter looked like it has been on for a couple hundred hours instead of 50, and the other one well it wasnt to much better and the tranmision screen I hate to think of what would have happend if that crap went through the pump. OK I'm all done whining now, I don't know what I was expecting when I cut them open, but i don't think it was this.
Peace

Hi Skeets,
Can you post some pictures? What model tractor is it? I have had 2 instances where there was way to much junk in the hydraulic filter in L3400's
In both cases the customer had changed their own oil, I have never seen it myself in the shop. Kubota's response was that the filter was doing it's job! I guess so, but I'm with you, they should be cleaning them out better when they build them! There is an interesting bulletin out from Kubota recently about failure of engine oil pressure sending units from contamination and a procedure to flush the engine so it doesn't fail again! If I remember right it applies to the basic L series. I don't have dealerlink in front of me right now to be sure though.

The tractor in question is a BX 2360,, and I never though about taking pictures, I was ahhh something less the enchanted with what I found. Be that as it may, I guess the MoCo is correct in what they say about the filters doing their jobs. It was just me whining about there being that much gunk in them inthe first place, and Im betting that if a bunch of others opened the filters they would find it too. But the dealer I don't believe ever cuts them open so John Doe never seens whats being pumped around inside.
Just like the HD dealers, well you did it your self no wonder it failed,, It ain;t rocket sicence mind you,, Just MHO you understand
Ok Im all done now,,,LOL
