My L3301 keeps popping one of the 5 amp ECM fuses when the treadle is engaged. Its most likely a dead short or a bad sensor (?) but I cant find any wiring in or around the treadle. Any suggestions? Could it be something else? The tractor starts an idol's perfectly one and engaged the treddle forward. The feuds , instantly , pops and the tractor stops.

Look for a wiring harness around the treadle linkage. On Non treadle models, the brake and clutch linkages have been prone to chafing and blowing that fuse. If you remove the fuse and use a meter to go from the fuse block where the fuse was to ground and move the treadle, you should see the ohm meter go to 0 ohms when you move the treadle if that’s where your short is. If that’s the case, start tracking that harness and look for a chafed or bare wire that’s being shorted to ground.
