If on grass, dirt or perhaps gravel - it is ok.Hi all,
Would driving 4x4 all the time be bad for a tractor?
Are there specific tasks a tractor should not operate 4x4?
Thanks!

Tires might make some difference, but not much. Using 4wd on grippy surfaces like pavement will eventually damage the driveline. And would the type of tyres also be important?
My b5000 is japan import with the mud tyres. They have less contact with the pavement than lets say tyres for grass..

Exactly. Every time I decide to disengage it a few minutes later I end up just spinning the two back tires. Pretty much stopped using 2wd.With an Old B5000, your not going to damage or wear much of anything that isn't already worn.
As long as it's not a solid surface such as concrete, asphalt, or a hard, rocky packed surface, using 4wd all the time is quite fine. I was designed as a 4wd!
I leave mine in 4wd all the time and I don't rip up ground when I turn and drive around the yard.
