I have a friend with a B7100 HST which is more powerful than your tractor.
He lives near Cornwall ON so has similar conditions to Smiths Falls.
His blower is 48" wide.
I dont think you should be going wider than that unless you are prepared to creep along which gets frustrating.

Thank you for the reply.
I was hoping someone actually had one of these tractors with a blower and could comment.I have came across a couple 50 and 52" for sale but not a lot used out there

I have a B7100 with a Kubota 222A rear snow blower. It is 48" wide. It will handle just about any amount of snow I point it at. I think for you a 48" would be best. I think the 50" would work also, I don't think the 2" would make much of a difference.

Thanks to both of you.50&52" seem easier to find,I am going to intensify my search for a good one,may even consider new, but new will cost what I paid for the tractor!
My next concern is cold weather starting.tractor does not start great now, going to get new glow plugs.do these little tractors need a block heater for winter starting?

A block heater is a nice option, yes, search kat block heaters. I was gonna do it on my L-185, and L2202, but instead found a coleman radiant camp heater, it slides under the oil pan, and heats them up in an hour or so, without needing to run electric in the old barn...:D:D

So I bought a used blower,a 54" argo trend, hopefully the tractor will handle it
It's in truely excellent shape, original paint and stickers etc and less than 1/3 of the price of new

Hi Al,

Can you let me know how it goes? I've been looking for a 48" for my B6100DT, and have been having a hard time finding one that small. If >50" works well, it would allow me to expand my search and increase my chances of finding one. Thanks a lot!

My B9200 started all last winter, stored outdoors, and it was down in the single digits many nights.

The older Kubota's have "slow glow" systems that require 30 to 60 seconds OR MORE for you to fire the glow plugs before starting. The plugs last longer but its a PITA to wait so long for it to start.

Are you sure you're hitting the glow plugs long enough? you need to turn to the glow position until you see the "coil indicator" start glowing, THEN start counting. Start with 30 seconds and go from there. You may need to go back to the plugs for a few seconds once it starts if its real cold out....
