3901 steering column

I just noticed a small amount of play when moving the steering column when I move thewheel back and forth.
I tmay have been there all along., I pulled up the boot. and see where the steering shaft runs through a barrel.
Is this small amount of play normal?
300 hours on tractor,

Not 100% sure which direction you’re talking about but some play will develop over time.

If you use the steering wheel to pull up onto the tractor you will wear a bushing on the column that can be replaced
