3 pt movement speed.

The hydraulics on the BX 3 pt has a significantly different feel relative to the old NH. One issue I'm experiencing and not dealing with too well is the speed and distance of movement of the implements as you transition from "slow" to the extreme end of lowering. On the NH the lift and drop speed was constant at whatever speed you set it. Float was positioning the lever in the mid range of the lever movement. The BX transitions from "slow" to basically dropping the last x inches. Bit abrupt. Hard to feather the height.

Would repositioning the lower arm higher or lower on the rocker arm effect this abrupt movement. I don't even remember if the BX has multiple positions. New tractor and still getting acquainted with it.

Have you tried adjusting the lowering speed knob?

On the one Ford an three Kubotae I've had. UP speed was pretty much the same with different implements. DOWN speed varies a lot with the weight of the implements. The adjustment knob mentioned is what I use to get the DOWN speed desired and prevent heavy ones from slamming to the ground.

I've played around with the speed dial. There is a point where the implement is a certain distance above the ground and goes from slow to just clunk drop. No real fine control below that point. The old NH compact had multiple holes on rocker arm and lower arm for positioning implements and meeting load requirements. No hole option for repositioning the rocker arm on the lower arm on the BX. Just need to adjust my "technique" and develop a better feel. Using the box blade for tearing out wild blackberry and leveling the area was quick and easy. My driveway at the transitions from up to down and down to up even with just a back blade has been challenging.

Mechanic at the dealership noted the Land Pride scraper grader if set up properly requires minimal 3pt positioning attention. Sort of an implement junkie. Sounds like I need one. But when enquiring on the price... $1400 for new. On the wait list for a use one. IIRC a weekend rental is $250. Using at least twice a year. I think I need to purchase one.
