At 45 hours. First at 18. Two lites on dash, regen and raise rpms. Increased to 2700, lite out. Took bout 15 mins or so. Have been normally running tractor at 2,000 rpms, 540 when using finish mower.

I really like my 3901, but i do think if i had to do the purchase over, would have looked harder at 2501. Only have 3 1/2 acres here. However L3901 great little machine, especially useful when storm took down 40ft pine and we had to clean up.

I suspect over time you will come to appreciate getting the larger machine. My L4060 has gone through 4 regens, averaging 57h between. So much depends on engine size, design, rpm, and load.
I generally set my rpms at 1500 when “idling” for short periods, and shut down if the tractor is going to be sitting longer than 5 -10 minutes.

Thanks, i was wondering good idle speed at warm up. Did not want to race engine on cold start up 1500 makes sense. Heard so many different numbers from dealer its a chore to know what rpms. Like i say, working around place i stick to 2,000.

Was kinda surprised it went 18 to 45, so i guess we are operating ok.

For sure these are nice machines, thanks for posting

I have right at 30hrs on my 3301, and no regen yet. Same thinking on the running & rpms. First start I run 10 min to warm up, about 1600rpm just idling, around 2000 for maneuvering and loader work. Shut it off if more than 10 min of inactivity.

Have noticed fuel consumption is getting better since mowing the field (about 3 acres) for the fourth time. Got about 5 acres total. No regrets on getting the 3301. The cost difference from the 2501 was minimal.

Smokeless, where abouts in S. IL are you located?

Usually the lament of most people here is they wish they would have bought bigger, so I would not spend too much time thinking you might have overspent. In the summertime with the warmer temps, the regens will be further apart. Running at PTO speed with a load on will stretch the regens to the max.

i was told keep RPMs at 1800 plus and no 'short trips' - get it hot, keep it that way in other words.

My first regen was 38 hours (kioto ck3510hst)..at 43 hours now. Regen occurred while I was disking so RPMS were up , lasted maybe 10 minutes.

I too am curious how this regen stuff will work over time. At work we have cummins diesels, DEF and DPF. Seems about 15% of them have serious DPF issues..they keep replacing a sensor and saying it's fixed. they seem to regen a LOT more often than 30 hours too!

My cousin runs a DEF diesel tractor/trailer. He loves it, says it runs cleaner than any he has had before and he has been on the road for a few decades. I dunno, this is all new ground to me. For sure, these newer Kubota seem plenty fuel efficient. I just need to get my arms around this DPF and regen stuff, clearing up some
