2023 L4701 Warranty - Split Pin Plug Leak

Hello,

I purchased a L4701 almost two years ago from a local dealer. It appears I have a split pin plug leak on my tractor. I was able to identify it from other articles on Orange Tractor Talks and it seems other people have had this fixed via warranty.

Does anyone know if a split pin plug leak is normally fixed via the Kubota warranty and how I would go about initiating that process? I texted my sales rep a few days ago and hadn't heard back yet. He is usually quick to respond but may be out of office. In anycase, looking for the best way to get the tractor in shape in the off season, hopefully under warranty.

being this leak is a service / warranty issue not a sales issue I would contact your dealers service depart not someone from sales that after 2 years may not even be working for the company anymore.

good luck, my dealer would consider this a warranty issue as long as no mod's and no user attempts to repair were made.

It's not very common for that model to have a leak, this was an issue from quite a few series of tractors back.
First have you verified it is hydraulic oil?
I have seen more than one case where it was leaking fuel that made it look like the split pin was leaking oil.
Also under the right conditions it could be condensation leaking, which is its job.

It could also be a coolant or motor oil leak too, while those two are super rare!

Besides a fuel or condensation issue, the tractor will need to be split to fix it.

Just call the dealer and get an appointment, then haul it in and get it fixed.

I'll take a closer look tonight. This is my first tractor so very possible that I could be wrong about it being the split plug. The tractor has not been run in a while and the leak seems centered on the the split pin and seem lighter in color an oliy. I'll clean up the underside and concrete and see if I can capture some of the liquid in small container. It's not constant so It will take a day or so to capture. The oil levels look unchanged. The Hydraulic oil is within the safe range - maybe on the low side of the safe range.

Compare the consistency and color of the juice that's leaking out to the color and consistency of what's on the dipstick of the engine and/or transmission. Matching them is the best/easiest way to know what's leaking out. If it ain't either one of those, does it taste or smell like diesel?
