On my wife's Dodge, about twice a year I pull the lever to release the parking brake and the hood goes "boing" and pops up a few inches. I calmly get out of the car and act like I am looking at something under the hood if people are around.

My excuse; It's not my daily driver.

That. And I miss the days when the headlight brights switch was a bare steel peddle on the floor.
I hate it when they change the hood release location. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂

My wife's car has an electronic parking brake, so it's push button.

Took me about 3 weeks before I would push the botton to release the parking brake instead of yanking the hood latch 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

YES! So simple, so easy, so common to all. No need to try and figure out if you push the lever or pull the lever or whatever when you switch vehicles.

Although it was possible to mix up the siren and brights on fire trucks of the day. There were two peddles side by side.

Oh geez, now I'm mourning the old mechanical motorized sirens. The longer you pressed your foot down, the louder and higher pitched it got. And the trucks were open-cab. It's no wonder I'm half-deaf now. <lol>
