1997 L3300 Transmission filler port fitted with connection

Hi Sorry to start my experience on the site with a question but does anybody know how to fill the transmission on a L3300 if the filler port has been fitted with what I assume is the return flow from a rear hydraulic block, should I remove the fitting and risk it or is there another way to fill the unit ?

There might be 2 openings, one behind the seat and one in front.

That's the way my L3000 is. The one behind the seat has the return from the loader.

That is a POOR way of returning oil back to the sump, through the filler neck. Some of the non-Kubota implements had this setup. The L2350/L2500/L2600/L3000 did too (with the LB400 and LA450S loaders) but they had dual fill ports so one could be disabled with a return hose and the other still used. This is not the case on the early Grand L series.... That rear fill port is the only fill for the transmission, same for the L2900, L3600, and L4200-all 4 of them are basically the same setup. You'll have to remove the return assembly to fill the transmission. I just did one of these recently (had a Bush Hog brand loader) and hated every second of it.

Thanks a lot for the replies, it confirms what I expected, although it does seem cheap way to fit the return there without thought for servicing.
Lugbolt can you please tell me how much the level dropped when you started the machine, should I fill it to the top of the sight glass and expect it to settle lower, rather than fit the pipework and then have remove it again to top up the level.
