DOES A 1972 L 175 FUEL PUMP HAVE A PRIMER KNOB ON IT. IT RAN OUT OF FUEL AND WILL NOT START NOW. THANKS FOR ANY HELP AS I AM NEW TO THIS OLD TRACTOR.

I do not think you have a fuel pump. Gravity delivers the fuel to the injection pump.

Have you done the proper bleeding procedure step by step. These steps with the engine OFF

Step one: loosen the bleed plug on top of fuel filter until a steady flow of fuel is coming out. Then close this plug.

Step two: Open bleed plug on top of injection pump until a steady flow of fuel comes out. Close the plug.

Now try and start the engine.

If it does not start, come back. Do not crank starter for too long as you can overheat and damage it.
