What do you think, fellas? Is this compatible at all? I can't find part numbers for the remote kit online to test out the theory. From a purely basic plumbing standpoint, I'd guess all the right parts are there but would love some feedback on the idea.

What do you think? Here are some pics of the remotes, just in case that helps.

Little confused as to what your trying to do?

Are you trying to take the loader third function and the rear remote off of the L3940 and put it on the L3800?

You got it, sir. I plan to sell the L3940 and would love to hang on to the remote hydraulics if at all possible by putting it on my L3800 (which I plan to keep.)

With regards to the guy that said he'd keep the L3940 and sell the L3800 (he deleted his comment for some reason) in a heartbeat...I KNOW!!!

I love just about everything about the L3940 except that it's standard transmission and terribly inefficient for the kind of work I do. If I did more brush hogging exclusively I'd keep it in a heartbeat. It runs like a dream, has plenty of power for what I need, and the rear remote in particular is needed for the log grapple I have. BUT, most of what I do involves tons of back-and-forth and nothing compares to the HST trans.

So, to answer the next question, the L3800 is HST and the L3940 is not. I hadn't thought about that in terms of the remote hydraulics compatibility.

According to the wholegoods listing there are different kit numbers for Grand L's and standard L's.

That's extremely helpful, 200. I really tried to do the research on my own through the Kubota parts finder website. Can you give us a tip on how to find this kind of information?

I'll probably post this in a separate thread since it's an oft-discussed topic but here is dealer cost info related to remotes on my L3800. I have no doubt I could do the install myself but it's good to see how much something like this would run:

Unfortunately it's a different valve on the 40 series versus the L3800, so the remote valves on the L3940 will not fit on the L3800. Listed are the valves for L3800:

* 1 Rear remote: Remote: $784.28 Install Labor: $250
* 3rd Function Remote for Loader: Remote: $760.10 Install Labor: $350

"Total cost for both remotes including install: $2,144.38 (excluding any applicable taxes). Just let us know if you want to proceed or if you have any other questions."

That would be me!!! :D I thought I was quick enough, no body would notice... :eek:

I did not delete it... I edit it pretty quick once I saw it in print and had that DUH! moment, figuring out it was most likely, HST vs. old gear! :eek:
Well hey there, Teg! I thought I was losing my marbles there for a while when your comment changed. Now it all makes sense. That 4-cylinder in the L3940 sure runs smooth and that is really just a whole lot of tractor. It's going to be tough to sell it.
