My L185 won't start. It's not getting fuel up to the injectors. I cracked the lines turned it over and over..No fuel.

The tractor was sitting for quite some time, but was running and used regularly when the last owner passed. Is there something I can take apart and check or clean?

Fuel gravity feeds to the injection pump. Cracking the vent on the injection pump till fuel flows freely. If fuel doesn't flow, then there is a blockage somewhere between the tank and the injection pump.

By any chance did the pepcock on the fuel tank get shut off?

The fuel rail could be stuck as well. You can access the fuel rail through the side inspection cover on the injection pump.

Make sure you have full throttle when trying to get fuel to flow to injectors, or you can be at it for a long time.

Sorry I'm getting free flow to the pump when the line is cracked. Just nothing out of the pump.

If I take the small plate off the side what will I find? How do I clean the fuel rail?

Is there a diagram available somewhere for this pump?

Ive seen injector pump issues before..I had to have my case 585 Bosch rebuilt...But this is different...It's not giving anything at all..

There is a small spring that attaches the throttle linkage to the fuel rail.

When shining a light in there, you can move the throttle by hand and should see what the spring is attached too. There is also a spring on the left side that acts as a bump stop for the fuel rail.

You can use PB Blaster, or liquid wrench and soak the fuel rail with it. Let it sit for a bit. Then I used a screw driver to carefully move the fuel rail each direction till it would move freely using the throttle.

You will need to change the engine oil when done since the PB Blaster or liquid wrench will mix with the oil in the oil pan and thin it down.

You may need to see if you are getting fuel out of the pump by cracking the lines at the pump
Be sure to hold the larger nut on the pump so it doesn’t get loose- I think there is some mechanism underneath the larger nut that can be messed up if the larger nut is taken off.

A simple one, it sometimes gets over looked, the stop knob is not pulled by chance, check it's fully returned.

I got distracted and didnt get back to it.

The fuel rail is the chrome horizontial pin with a side oinbbn on it? Correct? It doesnt move at all.

The springs are both on and tight. The two mechinisims i can see from the inspection hole are free.

Its getting fuel to the pump just not outbbn of it.

Im thinking of pulling it off and sending it in for rebuilding
