New crated, RCK54-24B (MMM) for my B7300

Ordered it a week ago, arrived yesterday.

They neatly set it in my small trailer and I brought it home. Used the FEL to lift it up and then pulled the trailer out from under it. Pushed it into the garage last night and expected to take the crate apart today. Today I decided to save the crate and ended up pulling it out of the garage again to lift the deck out of the box. Again, lifted the deck, pulled the crate out from under and then drove the tractor into the garage and set the deck down.

With the attachments and the crate, that deck was really heavy. It’s stamped but with thicker steel than I have on my old mower, (JD).

Rain tomorrow so I plan to do some assembly, install the mounting brackets, and if I have time start to install the deck under the tractor. I’m not sure how I will lift it for the install. It’s big (even though this was the smaller of the two offered, (60 inch and 54 inch). And did I say it was heavy?
Some photos attached in case you are interested.

Very nice unit! I see the caster wheels in the front corners and what appears to be an anti scalp wheel mid rear, is this still considered a ground engaged deck?

I just found gold in a barn find in a RC54-71b with grass catcher kit. Currently working on stuffing it under my 2150 that's equipped with loader and 4pt backhoe frame. I'd be interested to see some pictures closer up of your guide wheels as I may have to re-engineer mine ($70 a piece, times 4) plus they're not as nice as what I'm seeing on your deck.

Good luck fitting it!

Sure, glad to take a few shots. There are two caster wheels on the front, one center wheel (center back) and two anti-scalp wheels on the back corners. Five in all. The two fronts and center rear are larger than I expected (after seeing pictures of them). Will take some shots for you tomorrow and post them.

Thanks. I'll be curious to see how it interacts with the ground. Maybe the rear wheel is close enough to the centerline of the rear tractor tires to not care much about sliding during turns. My deck has casters at all 4 corners and an anti scalp roller front and center.

Needless to say, mines tight under there...

Yeah...that is tight. Much heavier than the deck I am installing. And you have casters at all four corners. What do you need from me?

Maybe a close-up of one of the front casters and the lift setup. I doubt I can fit all the stock linkages under mine so I'll be going to a small hydraulic cylinder of some sort. That's said, not sure what 1 1/4" lift will be good for...

I would like to see how they constructed those new casters. Looks like an inflatable tire too?

Mostly I'm just along for the ride. Fun to watch others fit new toys together.

Any updates from today? I'll share mine...

Drilled 2 new holes in each side of front frame to mount the forward quick pin.

Next had to modify the backhoe forward mount for the PTO driveshaft to clear.

Finally for today was to lengthen the front drag link mount by 1 1/2" and repaint.

I will say, it's super easy to get the mower in and out with a loader still attached! Normally wouldn't need to go so high with the front end, however, I had to get under there to cut.

Still have to shorten the rear mount arms and found out tonight the PTO shaft is too short so I'll make a sleeve Monday to lengthen it about 4"

Your new deck is set up almost exactly like the 60" deck for my B2650. It is a ground engaging deck. It mows extremely well. Golf course quality. The deck riding on the 2 caster wheels in the front, and the middle pair on the rear, it turns very well.

I've lengthened my PTO shaft and spun her up tonight. Smooth as can be! Even turns the correct direction!

Still have to shorten the rear links and weld them back. Travel keeps getting in the way...

Sorry this took so long....

Pics of the wheels. They are hard rubber, not inflatable.

Mower deck is on. Disappointed that only the rear of the deck raises when you lift the 3-point. Front casters on the deck are always on the ground.

Still don't have a good idea of how to pin it up. I suspect its the holes near or that are part of the stopper. It looks like using the stopper link you may be able to pin the front of the deck up too but the manual does not cover this.

In addition to the hard rubber tires there are three hard plastic rollers for scalping. One center front (not installed in the picture) and one on each side in the back.
