I have seen many ways to do this but I just wanted to share how I installed Weld-on bucket hooks.

I first used a piece of 1 1/2" x 3" Tubing for a reinforced lip to weld the hooks onto, seems to fit very nicely behind the lip. I tacked it in place in the corners and center while leaving the ends as open as possible to keep from having corrosion issues in the future. I welded on 3/8" Hooks purchased from Amazon for $8 a piece and spaced them out about 5 1/2" from the sides.

I plan on in the near future attaching a 2" receiver the the center of the lip.

Enjoy.

Looks good! That oughta work great and can't beat the price you have invested. My Dad was a welder and blacksmith his entire career and I never learned how. Wish I would have paid more attention now.

Thanks guys, I am by no means a fabricator and most the time I get it wrong lol. Man do I enjoy doing it for a hobby!!

BTW, my welding helmet turned off on me while welding and I got a pretty good few second shot of arch flash so now I am dealing with itchy eyes and blurred vision. Labor of love.
