Can any of you guys give me a rough idea as to what my 1982 L185DT 4x4 tractor is worth? I'm considering selling it and want to get some idea as to what it might be worth. It has a front end loader, ROPS, brand new 500 pound counterweight with reese hitch adaptor, 2 brand new front tires (Not installed). The tractor has 1272 hours and a complete service was performed at 1250 hours. The tractor also sports a K650 - 6' dig depth backhoe that operates using hydro QD connections at the FEL control valve. Its a nice setup and easy on/off. The tractor starts, runs and operates as it should. Has a 4 spd transmission with hi & low gears and a 3 spd PTO. Tractor is in good condition for its age. Lights and gauges all work as they should. Also has a compression release for easy cold weather starting. Paint is fading orange but all metal is solid. This is a manual steering tractor with selectable 2x4 and 4x4 traction. I couldn't seem to upload pictures but feel free to email me at josh.johnson@ahharris.com and I can show you photos if it helps in determining a fair value. Thanks for your help guys/gals.

Sadly this is one example of a tractor that is not going to sell for what "It's Worth".

It's worth somewhere in the range of 8k to 12k in the condition, hours, and as equipped.

Where you live plays a huge role in it's value.

Real world economics, it's a 40+ year old 18 HP tractor so it's not going to fetch top dollar.

Look at Craigs list in the areas around you, look for Kubota's and other similarly sized tractors to get a better Idea of local pricing

My WAG would be in the 4K to 5K range, or at least that's what it would sell for up here. ;)

Ditto what NIW said .....however - the hoe that you mentioned is the part that will get you a few extra dollars! Pictures would help give a little better guess-e-mate on the value.:)

Tractor looks real clean, and after doing a Craigs list search, looks like tractors of that size, type and brand go for top dollar in your area.

So off the top of my head I would say start at 6K as see if you get any bites.

thats a good old machine - I would place a price on it at 8.5K - and then it can be worked down to what cash is shown!;):)

I have a L185DT and although I love it... I will admit I bought it primarily because it was at such a low price. I think the low hp rating and age of the L185 keeps the price down. Having said that... I think the fact you have both a loader and backhoe is a big plus. Best value would be to sell the backhoe separate and then sell the tractor with the loader. I'd guess you could get around 5k for the tractor with loader. Then maybe 1.5-2k for the backhoe. If you sold it all as a package... probably around 6k.
