They really make it hard to find information on Kubota's online.

So I bought this 1987 KH-28L excavator (15,000 lbs) with 5,700 hrs for $7,500.00 the door is a little bent and needs new upper glass, it needs 1 new roller (bolts are loose and it squeaks) and I'd say it needs 2 new hoses on the extenda hoe. (Only slight leak at fitting) Besides that everything works and the motor sounds great.

So did I do alright?

The guy that owned the property we bought used to have an excavator. He built a pond and several flattened out areas with stone ditches and banks.
Before we bought it one of the ponds burms blew out and the water tore a trench through our lower field, about 3 ft wide 3 ft deep. Not to mention our driveway is so steep that when it rains any of the surfacing gravel gets washed off our road.
So I have plenty of stuff around to play with. The slew ways and ditches going down the driveway have filled up with fine gravel. So there's plenty of material around.
Not to mention all the materials for the driveway came from the property. This is one boney mountain covered with large to small gravel and glacial till.
I plan on rebuilding the burm around the pond and making it a lot thicker cause I want the pond to be bigger. I also plan on putting in some drains so it doesn't get to the point where it blows the wall out again

The pond is just off to the right behind this bank.

Then this is the upper part of our road.

Now I think your going to need a loader tractor and a good rear blade!

Are you planning on using the property in the winter?
#1 killer to property around here is getting in and out of a steep driveway when the snow flys. ;)

We do plan to stay here this winter.
The house used to have an outdoor wood boiler but the people must have taken it when they got foreclosed on. (I'm in the process of trying to find one now) But everything is here for one, pad, tubes, wiring even a heat exchanger to the gas water heater.

I would love to get a tractor (with a brush hog) but I'm afraid that's going to have to be a next year project.

We still have our home 12 miles away so if things don't work out we can always retreat for the winter. Honestly though I'd have to break a leg or something before I'll let that happen.

I just put this new plow on my truck last year (9.5 ft fisher extreme V2) I have 4 cleated chains for the truck.

The wife drives a all wheel drive Volvo xc70. So hopefully she can make it up. If not there is a parking area at the bottom of the driveway. My kids already have to park down there and ride a 4 wheeler up. We have 2 wheelers and 2 snowmobiles. So worst case I could always just plow the parking area down bottom and use sleds.

My wife says if her car doesn't make it up then she's going to bring the mud truck up.

You will have a lot more luck getting help if you start your own thread under the Service section, then jumping into the middle of a Buying thread that is 10 years old.
