Was working in some heavy brush and managed to get the pump's return(?) line hose popped off the return(?) line pipe. I have to wonder whether this has EVER happened to anyone else, EVER...

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get these reconnected? The hose is "L" shaped and I cannot aim it to connect back to the pipe, let alone get any purchase on it to seat it back on the pipe (and then, how to get the hose clamp to go on as well!).

I'm thinking that I'll have to remove the pipe and (somehow get the hose out) and put the hose on it and then reinstall. I'd have tried this if I could figure out how to remove the pipe's retaining bolt! There's not enough room to swing a wrench or get a ratchet in there.

Here's looking aftward from the left side of the tractor (pipe is to the right of the hose- this is as far back as the hose will go as it's an "L" shape and is sticking through the side of the frame):

Not sure if I'm identifying things correctly so here are the part numbers:

Pipe: 6C150-1350
Hose: 6C070-13190

Those end up connecting to:

Pipe: 6C070-13160 (exposed pipe that wraps down around the fitler on the left side)

Sounds like you might have a bent pipe on one end or the other.
If you have your going to need to get it out and either straiten it or replace it.
If it didn't bend the pipe or you are able to bend it back without cracking or breaking it, then you need to remove the #100 bolt on the end of #80 pipe in order to get it back in.
Might require removing other parts to get to the bolt, but it will be the right way to fix it.

Thanks for including the diagram.

I have removed the pipe that is listed as #080.

What I am unable to figure out is how to go about removing the bolt on the other pipe (you have that highlighted- it's #040). I would prefer to not have to take the entire tractor apart in order to get that pipe out; at this point it is unclear as to what I'd need to remove in order to have viable access to that bolt (#040). This all assumes, however, that this is the thing to do in order to get the hose attached to that pipe (#010).

I do not beleive that the pipe (#010) is bent. I suspect that a piece of brush (nasty salmon berries) pushed into that cavity (opening in the frame) and hit the hose dead on, pushing it back and off the end of the pipe (#010).

Your going to have to get a long extension and get to the bolt.
Looking at the pictures of the center frame it looks like there is an opening in the frame right below where that front bolt is, is that not the case?

OK, success!

I used a 3/8" swivel socket through the bottom opening: I had to run out and buy one. It was a bit touchy to get enough torque on things w/o slipping and rounding the bolt head.

While a bit tricky getting that bolt out, it was nowhere as tough as getting it back in! Trying to start a bolt up in a hole like that with a swivel socket is a good test of one's patience!

Ran a bit (couple of quick chores) and then parked. No signs of leaks. Assume that it'll be that way come morning: and if so then I'll sign off on things.

Thanks for being out there and providing encouragement and tips!
