I think marriage would be a lot better and "safer" for people if the never "dated." My wife and I hated dating. From our second outing together, we "interviewed."

Married in 62 days. Still married after nearly 37 years. No big issues and both would do it again.

Ray, my wife asked me one time how I felt about dating. Told her she was stuck with me :D I hate dating. It's like an endless job interview ;)

Hey Ray, 62 days is a long time.

Being new in the Air Force and being assigned to my first base after training, we saw each other 5 times in three weeks, and no time for more than 4 hours, we decided to get married.

I never asked her to marry me it just happened. I was for it to get out of the barracks and she was for it to get out of the house.

She was 17 and the daughter of an AF MSgt. and had never dated before as her dad keep close control of her. I was the old man of 21 and had not only dated a lot but had three children with three different women.

The best advice I got before we tied the knot was from my mother when I told her of the up coming wedding and she said; "tell the girl about your children before the wedding or I will." Good advice as several years later I was served with a warrant from the mother of child number three.

Since the wedding was that Saturday and my mother was in the hospital, no one I knew was there and we got married in here parents home.

That's was 50 years ago this April 15.

Young man complaining about his wife of less than a year to an older man.
The older man replies,"It'll get better. The first ten years are the hardest."
The young man say,"Really? How long have you been married?"
The older man replies,"Ten years."
