Thanks for all the great advise, just wish the person that I got this engine from had asked the same question. As the head has a big crack in it right next to the core plug at the fuel tank end. Thought the plug would have gone before the cast. Lucky it did not cost me to get the engine...

Thank you for the help. 45 years old and every day is a school day. Just about to strip the front axle and replace the oil seals also bushes on the swivel pin and 4x4 drive shaft tube (lots of wear). Any tips welcome as it seems lots to strip to get at that main pin. Duncan.
