There is a wire latch at the front and left hand side of the tractor. It is a few inches above the top of the axle. Pull it away from the tractor and the hood is hinged at the back.

The loader has recently been removed and reinstalled. I have checked wear and condition of the disconnects and they appear to be in good shape. I have disconnected and reconnected them to no avail. The hydro filters and fluid were changed at 50 hours. I will check the three point tomorrow...

I have also wondered about air in the lines. I have fully extended and lowered the boom ten to twelve times and this has had no effect. Is there something I am doing wrong in bleeding air?

You are correct the grapple is controlled with a pair of buttons on the joy stick. The slow operation of the boom is independent of the use of the grapple.
