    Daily Chuckle

Except if you compare like foods there is little if any difference i.e. home canned green beans vs. Commercial canned green beans. Comparing say home canned tomatoes to Chef Boyardee canned ravioli isn't remotely a reasonable comparison.

    RFID card holders

Beyond the other points noted, also bear in mind that these days when you have RFID ATM/Debit/Credit and perhaps other RFID cards stacked in your wallet it is particularly difficult for any reader to get a read as multiple cards will be trying to respond. For RFID shielding there are numerous...

    Dump Trailer remote issue

They mostly work at the 20' range, but they are not 100% at that range. They could be better. I also need to find a good wireless mag-mount camera / monitor I can use to see the distribution at the back of the trailer better and more importantly so I can actually see the clamp on forks I use on...

    Dump Trailer remote issue

While you're making a new an improved version be sure to properly automotive harden it with an appropriate IP rating and surge suppression. Longer RF range would help also, at the back of a crew cab long bed the RF range of the KTI unit is sometimes marginal.

    Dump Trailer remote issue

Checked and that is correct. Yes, the battery/pump/storage box at the front of the trailer isn't the most pristine environment. When the battery gets low and the pump and stuff starts to chatter, stop, that is when most of the relay contact damage will be done.

    Dump Trailer remote issue

The KTI wireless remote receiver I have which is likely the same as the OP has definitely contains three relays. I haven't confirmed the wiring, probably one is enable and the other two up and down, or perhaps one is not used in this application.

    Dump Trailer remote issue

My suspicion would be burned contacts on the relay in the receiver for the down output. If they are higher resistance the reduced voltage they are passing may be enough to activate the pump motor contactor but not the down solenoid. A simple test would be to swap the up and down wires from the...

    Rotella T6 synthetic oil

I'm pretty sure I'd put Rotella T6 5W-40 on my pancakes before I'd put mystery "pancake syrup" on them. Real 100% maple syrup for me, and not in excessive quantities. As for engines, I used to use Mobil 1 for years on various vehicles and initially on my F350 until Ford determined it didn't...

    “Borrowing” the neighbor’s equipment… the Liability…

Borrowing equipment is great for quick and emergency stuff. For bigger planned projects like stump digging which requires a larger machine than you would expect, rental is far better and rent a size larger than you think you'll need. Renting also gets you the size machines you can't generally...

B7100 Pilot Bushing Help - Grinding Gears

Owning a B7100DT for a number of years I can conclusively say that you most certainly can shift gears while moving just not under any notable load. I very often will start out in 1st gear pulling the tractor out of my parking area and when I get to my road upshift to 2nd and then sometimes 3rd...

Spring Tooth Rake Showed Up Scratched

The USA heavy duty stuff is nice, but sometimes that China stuff is just fine and hard to beat. I have clamp on forks I use on my backhoe, like $200 delivered and now like 5 years later still going strong moving 1,800# feed sacks and whatnot regularly.

    Chainsaw safety

And always remember this safety tip: When operating a chainsaw wearing shorts, do not kneel in the fire ant mound.

    Chainsaw safety

I don't use much PPE when operating a chainsaw, but I've been good for 30+ years. Possibly because I'm left handed I operate the saw at an angle to me so any potential kickback or unexpected cutthrough does not swing towards me.

    yup, EVs are soooo great...

They already have evolved that way, just not in the US yet. I've mentioned many times that pack-swap EV and ownership of a pack in a pool much the same as we do for welding gas cylinders will solve many of the current EV issues. As was somewhat noted above, people do not think to calculate the...

    Mouse victory

Cats are protective of their family. Way back when I was 7 or 8 a strange dog showed up in our yard and started barking at me. Within seconds my cat was perched on top of a nearby rock snarling at the dog and then charged at it. The dog took off with the cat in hot pursuit. A few minutes later...
