Thanks all -- the back plugs are R/L which is the DC outlet and R/B which is the working lights (although I don't see an obvious place in the diagram that matches a loose R/B plug). My multimeter is good (a nice fluke) so with the hint on how to map the colors to the diagram I'll get back out...
