What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Plowed some snow for the first time with the B6000. It worked great even plowing up some steep hills. Just got a picture from the security camera.

    I retract this statement.

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Success! It fit no problem. It was around freezing and the battery was just off the trickle charger but it definitely sounds like it has more power through the compression stroke. I took a video of the old one cranking cold and the new one right after installation that I will post once I figure...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Well, no luck with the deer. Saw a couple of little bucks but since there is an elk in the freezer already they get to grow bigger for next year. A cold day out hunting in the bush is better than a warm day in the office no matter the temperature.

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Ordered it today. Hopefully it shows up early next week as it's supposed to warm up above freezing for a few days. I replaced the fuel line in the Tundra skidoo last week in -15c and I think I got a touch of frost bite in my pinky finger from the -15 or below gas while draining the last of the...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

I've been looking into these gear reduction starters... I think this DB electric SND0289 should fit as long as the larger gear reduction housing instead of the solenoid doesn't stick up and hit the engine case. It lists as compatible with the G1800 and G1900 which are on the list of the...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Got a decent dump of snow today. Didn't try to start the tractor but put the battery maintainer on it. I did try to start the skidoo tundra ii but it looks like the fuel pickup line in the tank rotted out over the summer. It's not getting any fuel to the pump. Looks like that Tygon fuel line I...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

6-12" of snow expected here over the next day + the 2-3" that fell already. Used the ATV to get a load of wood to the house... After tomorrow there should be enough snow to use the skidoo and sled. Classic Top Gear and a roaring fire after the kids and wife go to bed. Winters not see so bad.

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Yes that will be the next attempt. Battery maintainer on prior, plug in the heater for an hour and give it a go. If it still doesn't want to start then pull the air filter and give the intake some hot air with a heat gun. I've been reading about gear reduction starters and I might look at...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Well it was -15*c here today and it wouldn't start. I didn't have the inline coolant heater plugged in or anything though. Just gave it a quick try to see if it would. I think the battery is getting weak as it turned over pretty slow. Next time I'll try with a little more preparation and see how...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

The bucket and pallet forks work great for loading wood onto the deck for the week. Saves a bunch of going up and down the stairs. We'll see how it starts in -20 or -30*c but so far it starts the same at -5* as it does at +20*... Lot's of glow plugs and a few 15 or 20 second cranking...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Used the mighty B6000 to haul a load of firewood from the woodshed up to the house.

Kubota B7100HST-D adding lower radiator hose engine heater **UPDATE

It doesn't have a thermostat or even a water pump. It functions via a thermosiphon system that circulates with the natural heating and cooling of the fluid.

Kubota B7100HST-D adding lower radiator hose engine heater **UPDATE

I haven't had a chance to use my coolant heater but I agree that those WiFi plugs are excellent for block heaters. I've got a 2 outlet outdoor TP link one that I use for mine and my wife's car. I can set schedules so that they come on a few hours before we're going to leave in the morning or...

BX23's are NOT for mud gripe!

Sounds like what you are looking for is a good old B6000. Skip to the 2:30 mark. Disclaimer: I've never attempted any mud driving but it digs holes in dry dirt

    B7100HST Brakes - Max adjusted? - Time for shoes/lining ?

Yes I did this on my B6000. I disconnected the spring and other end of the linkage by the brake pedal and turned the whole linkage out of the rear end, adjusted the lock nut in your picture further in (towards the front end) and tightened it back into the brake assembly. In the picture below...

    B7100HST Brakes - Max adjusted? - Time for shoes/lining ?

If it's like my B6000 there was also some adjustment where the rod goes into the brake housing on the rear axle as well.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

No picture again... But used the mighty B6000 to backfill a couple of 4ft deep holes dug by my dad's backhoe at my brother's house. He's getting upgraded electrical panels in his garage and barn so he needed new grounding plates. No more glass tube fuses!

Fixing hole in side of block

If you're set on pulling against a tree I'd rig a pulley or something so you're pulling at a 90* angle away from the shaft. I've seen things like this go very badly even with a chain. A few thousand pounds of pull letting go very quickly with a heavy piece of metal at the end is a lot of force...
