I was looking at the woodmax 78. I’m currently cutting 10+ acres biweekly on a z turn cuz if I go any longer the fields will be too long for the z turn. Figured with the flail I could let them go longer and free up a little time for other tasks.

Anyone wanna weigh in on if a flail mower is worth the up charge from your standard rotary mower? Gonna try and rent one of them but if that’s not possible I may pick one up.

The place in PA that has the FC 9T cultivator is $425 shipping and the NC place is $485

I have that same chain harrow. I was thinking of doing that with the Cultivator.

Unfortunately, I don't live in a farm-dense area. I am kind of an outlier. I check FB marketplace and CL all the time, but that's basically what I have to work with.

I did look a them, it's almost $1K more to go that way. I don't know enough to say if that's justified or not.

Any thoughts on trying to brush hog it before using the rippers?

I found 2 places that have some inventory. I’m waiting to get final shipping cost. Neither is close to me. Ones in PA (6 ish hrs) the other is in SC ( 12 hrs).

Called over, and they don't make them anymore. Gave me a different place to look other than the one I found in PA but they don't have any.

Found a place called Wengers in PA. They have 7,9, and 11T Fred Cains. I emailed for a shipping quote.

I figured there was a reason for the $ diff. Thank you any other places that might sell them?

Found those on Sweet Farm Equipment. Chain harrow mounted to the back of one of those might be a good start.

it might not be the best path of attack but I’m trying to get something that can be used for more than just this one task. Sounds like I won’t get out that easy haha.

I have a 8’x8’ chain harrow that I drag with the side by side. I could try to smooth with that I guess.

Only attachment I have is the backhoe on the tractor…bought it used and it came with it. This would be my first attachment A family member has a box blade with scarifiers, I tried that last spring. kept breaking teeth and the box blade was getting clogged up. There isn’t much tree roots...
