If you're going to bypass a filter bypass the second one in the engine compartment. The first one will prevent anything from getting into the fuel pump.

Do you really need one? As Hugo said, if you don't need a draw bar, it only prevents things from flopping around. I don't use one. If you plan on getting a Quick Hitch in the future you may not need one.

Full synthetic "DIESEL" engine oil is fine. The engine oil you buy for your car IS NOT the same as engine oil you get for your tractor. You must get oil rated for diesel engines. Hydraulic oil is not engine oil or visa versa. Super UDT2 or equivalent for the hydraulic system.

Just throwing darts here for obvious stuff: Air filter clean? Check the hydraulic fluid level. Do you have little plastic hydraulic cooling fan under the tractor, is it broke? Do you have a thermal gun (HF cheap)? What's the rad / engine temp actually read? (maybe bad gage?)
