    D950 starter. Need one.

The engine struggled like this before I did anything to it. Only thing that was done was hone and rings basically. I am not convinced the starter is not hosed. A friend had this thing before and likely cranked on that starter for an hour at a time. What I suspect is shorted windings that I...

    D950 starter. Need one.

Per my other posts, I just got a D950 patched up and running. However, it is obvious to me that it cranks over slower than normal. Even when jumping off a running vehicle and confirming that I am getting 11.3V during cranking at the starter (which is roughly normal), it just does not crank...

    Technical rebuild assist with D950

Just my take after being in the engine. The liners are to provide a harder, more durable bore than cast iron can provide. Offering .5mm pistons seems pretty stupid IMO, and not a wise play. the bores are hard, and trying to run a boring setup in those bores is asking for problems. And honing...

Aftermarket engine parts suppliers for D950?

I've never bought Bota parts so couldn't tell ya but $100 for a set of 3 rings for a piston? $300 just to put rings in it? A normally sane price is probably $25-35.

Aftermarket engine parts suppliers for D950?

Looking to see if anyone here has located places in the USA to get parts? I have priced some factory parts and I might as well go find another engine before paying these stupid prices! I primarily just want piston rings and head gasket, but I might settle for a piston kit and top end kit...

    Technical rebuild assist with D950

What was the failure mode? Are the sleeves fully supported at the bottom or hang free? When building race engines, I used to have issue getting people to tear down and do pistons. Excessive piston slap could cause some unneeded drama. I am not really for boring, but i'd probably consider...

    Technical rebuild assist with D950

Dealing with issues with this engine in a piece of equipment. Others gave up on it so I took over. I am not a rookie with engines but never built a Kubota. I just went through the head after someone else paid to have it "rebuilt". I could valve springs that were not down in their homes, and...
