    L2900 steering issues.

I have an l2900 with about 1000 hours on. I changed all the fluids and filters about 40 hours ago used the latest Kubota hydraulic fluid. The steering some times gets very hard to turn. It seems to happen during or just after the front end being elevated. So going up hill or if a go a little up...

    Opinions on post hole diggers

Thank you all there are I lot of good points here. I have seen the hydraulic units and they seem great but they were a little more than I wanted to spend especially since I didn’t have remote connections. It certainly is difficult to quantify compare different soils and what I call rocky might...

    Opinions on post hole diggers

I am looking to purchase a 3pt post hole digger. I have about 40 post I have to replace. I usually look at used equipment so I wanted to get people opinions about the TSC countryline post hole digger. I have looked at some of the well used landpride models neer me and they seem to be about $1000...

What to fill rear tires with

My initial plan was the beat juice unfortunately I could not find someone near me that would sell it to me in a container. They would only fill the tire which I was worried would be a little unruly for me to handle once filled. According to the previous owner the tractor had had cacl in it for...

What to fill rear tires with

As a farmer I would think some of the fertilizers would be pretty rough on the rims and potentially the rest of the tractor. Is that a problem?

What to fill rear tires with

I am not sure what your question is. Nacl that they spread on the roads around here does add to the corrosive properties of water on iron. As does cacl. There is not any disputing that. Some of the spreaders have gone to plastic around here. I personally put cacl in an inner tube in my tire. It...

What to fill rear tires with

Very good point. You definitely want to keep the dry flakes in some sort of sealed container otherwise it will absorb moisture. They don’t use it a lot on roads in the northeast for melting ice because of the cost here. They usually use sodium chloride here just because it costs so much less...

What to fill rear tires with

I think you would find windshield washer fluid just a little more dangerous than cacl. But I agree with you, it wouldn’t keep me from using it. You should look up the health hazards of sand. My parents should be in jail for letting me play in the stuff.

What to fill rear tires with

I think windshield washer fluid may be a good compromise. It is not has heavy as others but you can buy it and do it yourself. Cheap and less corrosive. It is poisonus and I think it can actually cause you to go blind if you drink it unlike some other things people have told me would make me go...

What to fill rear tires with

I think you are spot on with the weight comments. If you don’t need the weight don’t add it. Again I am not an expert just observations I have made. There also are several ways to add weight. The loaded tires adds weight and the center of gravity is low. The weight itself doesn’t add any...

What to fill rear tires with

I do appreciate that rims rust but some of you pictures have rot everywhere not just where cacl would be. I am sure you are correct that not everyone needs filled tires. I am sure everyone will find things that work best for them. You are correct if I get a flat tire I will have salt water...

What to fill rear tires with

We use calcium chloride on our cement block walkways, parts of the driveways and even on the roof for ice damns some winters. Unfortunately around here it doesn’t prevent any weeds or grass from growing the following summer.

What to fill rear tires with

So what is the best liquid to but in your tires? I think it depends on your situation. I know people complain about the cacl rusting rims but I don’t think all of that information is true. If you fill a tubeless tire with cacl there is limited oxygen in the tire for the chemical reaction to...

What to fill rear tires with

Then the question was what to put back in the tire. I liked the idea of the beet juice. Do I think it would have prevented the rust that I had in my rim, no. I had an inner tube and the beet juice would be in the inner tube not protecting the rim from rust (I believe it has rust inhibitors in...

What to fill rear tires with

I bought a used l2900 used a year ago and it had filled tires. I just wanted to share what I learned trying to do research on what is the best fluid to use. Unfortunately I think the answer is it really depends on you situation. I am not an expert but this spring I popped a tube on my rear tire...

    Adding ballast, easy as pie!

Fast*st Where did you buy the rimgaurd? I live in MA and called around and couldn't find anyone that would fill a barrel for me. I ended up putting salt back in. I also have the L2900GST with filled turf tires and need to add more weight to the rear end for the loader.
