    L3240 Hairline Cracks in Rearend

Backing into something, say a stump with a 3pt attachment on the tractor, can slam the PTO shaft severely enough to create the observed cracks. There may be more damage than we see in the photo. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

    L3240 Hairline Cracks in Rearend

Nice photo....Definitely hairline cracks in the casting. Possibly these are older cracks based on the rusty color within the cracks? Or is that maybe the color for hydraulic fluid?? Probably these are thermal cracks related to the casting process at the foundry. If you are definitely...

    L3240 Hairline Cracks in Rearend

I don't think a little water freezing would crack the case, but I do support structural stress from an attached implement during use. Which means it suffered some hairline cracks prior to being parked long term. A good experienced welding shop can braze the cracks, effectively closing them...

    Oil Drain Plugs

Just my comment, but its probably not putty your seeing on the drain plug, but most likely a thread sealant. It may have been used to seal the oil drain plug, after a mechanic cross-threaded the plug. Clean it off throughly and examine for any thread damage. If no thread damage, try to...

    Instrument Panel Cleaning

I have a cab tractor, and so it gets dirty far less than an open station tractor. So only once a year I do this. Wash it down with a hose throughly, followed up with windex spray window cleaner. I wipe it down throughly with about 1/3 roll of paper towel, but it looks like brand new after this...

    L3800 hydraulics

Both Kubota OEM parts, Kubota Operators Manual and Kubota Shop Repair manual for your tractor are available online at Coleman or at Messicks.com. The operators manual shows exactly where the hydraulic fill point is, and yes indeed, the Kubota UDT hydraulic fluid is what you need. Complete...

    New tractor with scratches

It doesn't look very professional to see a Kubota dealer turning out new tractors like this. Recommend you keep this very simple, just ask the dealer to remove those scratches before you take possession of the tractor. Ask him to double check all fluids too, when doing his dealer prep. Sent...

    Gear oil SAE 80

Yes Indeed 80W-90 gear oil will work. Its the higher end of 80W. You can also use Kubota UDT fluid. You can also use fully synthetic transmission gear oil which often provides increased benefits at a cost. Check your specs, because i saw somewhere you needed 8.7 gals total fluid.

L3200 HST - Hydraulic Fluid Amount?

I recommend just going to NAPA and buying the highest quality hand siphon pump you can find, and siphon off just one gallon of hydraulic fluid into a container. I think they come with 3/8" clear plastic tubes, about 3 feet long and should do the job cleanly and easily.

L3200 HST - Hydraulic Fluid Amount?

There is a difference in hydraulic fluid capacity between L3200 Gear and L3200 HST tractors. You may indeed have overfill. See attached specs from TractorData regarding the L3200. See transmission oil capacity is listed. Gear capacity= 7.3 gals HST capacity= 6.2 gals TractorData.com...

    L3901 Battery keeps dying

Purchase a multimeter for testing the battery. Visually check and then clean all contacts before using multimeter. Check voltage before starting: range should be 12.8 -13.1 volts. Then check voltage during starting: range should be 10.0 - 10.5 volts. You will need a second person to start...

    GR2120-2-48 increasing HP slightly

I checked the specs, and the GR2120 horsepower rating of 17HP has been increased, and is now 21HP. I assume the engine is unchanged, so perhaps the 4 HP increase comes from a new method to calculate the horsepower rating. Kubota is a little quiet about this HP increase. Sent from my...
