Which to Buy: B3200 or L3200/3800

Having owned a B3200 and an L3800 I might be able to shed some light. First a little back ground. I've owned 4 new tractors from 3 different makers with 3 different frame sizes in horse power ratings from 21 to 38. All had HST transmissions, (I will touch on that later) and front end loaders. 2...

    L3800 Block Drain

Thank you for the reply. Ive used that idea many times in the past on cars and other tractors. Its a hassle to me. By running a hose in the radiator you are effectively removing all the coolant from the engine leaving only water in the block. Then using a 50/50 mix added to your system, with all...

    L3800 Block Drain

Hello everyone. Anyone know where the block drain is located on a 2011 L3800 HST? Local dealer was no help as they just drain the radiator and refill according to the service manager I spoke with. Thanks in advance.

    l3800 transmission noise

My L3800 has the "normal" HST whine that every HST tractor I've owned has had. It may be a hair louder than the others were but nothing worth mentioning. Now if you want to hear a loud whine put a factory steel cab on a Case 446 hydraulic drive garden tractor. Unbearable. Tractor gone. Should...

    B series

I'm not sure if you fellas got my point. The L3800 will lift a lot more in real world use compared to the B3200 that I had, versus what the Kubota fliers would suggest. That was the point of my post. And yes the B series is all aluminum from the bell housing back. I can't understand why Kubota...

    B series

Well I have some more digging time on the L3800. The loader lifting capacity is much stronger than my B3200 was. Much more than the numbers on paper in my opinion. Even with the loaded rears I have lifted the rear off the ground when digging out a pine tree by rolling back the bucket. Also there...

Agreed 100% and the price is not much different between a B3200 and the L 3200 / 3800 tractors. As far as the crawler goes, when I get my hands on one it will never be for sale either. Steve

Kubota has been doing this for quite a few years now and so had Deere. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm just old school and feel that aluminum has no place on a tractor but that's just me.

Mine was a 2010 B3200 and from the rear of the engine back was aluminum.

    New L 3800

I know there are individual brakes, they are just on the same side as the HST pedal making them nearly useless. My tractor does not have cruise control so locking that on to use the turning brake is not an option. I did not give the PTO a second thought as I have not used it. Makes sense to need...

    New L 3800

Loving my new L3800. I do have one complaint. I knew this going in but I just have to say it. Why is there a clutch on a Hydrostatic drive tractor? Seems like a wast of money to put one on. It ads another item to wear out and prevents them from putting brakes on the left side allowing real use...

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Turned 39 today. A mini excavator would be cool but there is only so much I'm going to spend on my equipment sickness and those are big $$$$. What I really want next is an antique Oliver OC-3 Crawler to restore like my Dad had when I was a little boy. They are a...

Here are some pics. Another tidbit on the loader. Although on paper the specs would indicate that this loader can lift a little more than the B3200 loader in reality it feels much more powerful. I will get a better feel for that when I can actually dig some dirt. I'll keep you guys posted. Steve

Thank you for the happy birthdays everyone. I put about a half hr on the new L3800 yesterday moving a hard packed icy 6 ft tall snow bank that has been growing all winter. All I can say is WOW. The traction from the added weight is awesome. No vibration like the B3200 and it starts like a car...

My dealer will be delivering my new L3800 today. Loaded aggs and LA524 loader. Whoo Hoo. Can't wait to use it this weekend. And just a day before my birthday.

Yes the oil was on the metal before paint. I used to paint industrial machines and if you did not get all the oil off from the machining / building process it would wrinkle and come off easy just like my Kubota. After test driving Friday I'm getting an L series. An L3800 to be exact. Same as the...

Kind of had it with my new B3200 already after this last problem. First it was a faulty crooked loader that cause the tractor to shift to one side about an inch and a half when pushing down and lifting the front tires off the ground. When the loader was raised all the way up it twisted the other...

    Winter Oil

Works awesome in everything I try it in. Some other forums I have mentioned it in though just causes arguments. Some people are so set in their ways there is no changing their minds.

New B3200 smokes on cold start

My 3200 acted the same way. The injection pump timing was off 8 degrees. Now that that the dealer has fixed the issue the tractor will start in any temp with no more than 5-10 seconds on the glow plugs and it no longer misses and coughs and puts out very little smoke. Make them fix it. You will...
