Thanks for the recommendations - In regards to the battery operated mowers I have a really thick new lawn thanks to my BX23S and I don't think the battery operated mowers would be able to handle it. So I'm looking at gas powered for now.

Any recommendations for a self-propelled push mower? Mowing about 1/2 acre of lawn - want to be able to mulch & bag.

Be prepared to fight with the engine oil filter. I struggled getting that off but eventually it broke free. My original filter was the same color as the engine so I think they paint them after the filter is installed.

I had the same problem with the engine oil filter on my new BX23S - I ended up crushing the filter with a strap wrench before it came loose.

So the owners manual says to change the transmission fluid & clean the strainer at 400 hours but the workshop manual says to change the transmission fluid & clean the strainer at 50 hours. Has anyone confirmed which is correct?

Had my first pucker moment on Sunday moving a stump over the stone wall with my forks - I came in at an angle on a slight incline and lifted the right rear tire a few inches before I set the stump back down.
