    M9540 black smoke

I run ELC and it was changed a few years ago. It will be changed again as I'm waiting on parts to put the injectors back in. I'm going to flush the system, change the thermostat, and radiator cap. Then I will try to find the problem. I'm thinking it might be something to do with the wastegate.

    M9540 black smoke

The wife went and got the injectors tested this morning and the shop said they are all good. Does anyone have any other ideas?

    M9540 black smoke

I checked on having it rebuilt locally and was told to replace it. The tractor has a cab. I blow the radiator, oil cooler, and condenser out at least once if not twice daily. Its not as bad cutting hay, but tedding, raking, baling, and bush hogging it seems to gather everything. I'm even...

    M9540 black smoke

If an injector is dumping fuel would you not be worried about burning a piston or scorching a cylinder? I would like to run some cleaner but I'm worried about more damage to the motor.

Oil level is ok. It uses a little and we have still been having to add oil like before.

    M9540 black smoke

The hose from the turbo was replaced last year. It was soft and oil soaked. The tractor started smoking last year and burning lots of oil. The turbo shaft was loose and leaking oil into the intake. It was replaced with a chinese version. The factory turbo was almost $3k. The oil is a little...

    M9540 black smoke

This week in the hay field I noticed the tractor running a little warm. It wasn't overheating but it would start to warm up while cutting and I would drop a gear. It would go back to normal then I would speed back up. I also noticed it smoking a little more. The smoke was black. It was constant...

    M9540 hydraulic problem

You were right. I didn't realize the relief on the loader valve was In series with all the hydraulics. I thought it was just for the loader. Apparently when the oring went it was letting it just push pressure back to the tank.

    M9540 hydraulic problem

Sorry for not getting back but we've been really busy and just got back to it last night. I talked to 3 diff dealers and all anyone could say is it needs a pump, so I pulled mine and inspected it. Everything inside looked good. The case had about 0.001" of wear in the steering and hydraulic...

    How often i check fluids - - don't lie!

I was always taught that you check the oil before you use a piece of equipment and that's how we still try to do things. Sometimes it is forgotten but not often. The fluids are cheap compared to the loss of our time and money on a rebuild on a motor or tranny.

    How do you refuel?

We run a small hay farm and do dirt work on the side. It goes faster than you think.

    How do you refuel?

We keep about 1000 gallons of diesel. We use them to fill the off-road tank on the truck and fill all the equipment when it's in the shop. We also keep a 55 gallon drum of non ethanol for the gas stuff. My insurance has never said anything.

    M9540 hydraulic problem

I guess so. Our M5030 has what your talking about but it's never caused a problem. I am not sure what else it could be but the pump. I think I'm going to pull the pump and see if it shows any signs of wear.

    M9540 hydraulic problem

The only hoses it has are the pressure lines going to the loader. The suction for the pump is a steel line and the return from the loader valve is a steel line.

    M9540 hydraulic problem

Mine doesn't have that either. At least not on the valve. I will look in the manual when I get off work.

    M9540 hydraulic problem

I don't think mine has a rubber hose on the suction side of the pump. It has a hard line coming from the tank to the bottom of the pump. Is there another line your talking about?

    M9540 hydraulic problem

Ok. I will try to find a manual for the loader. The hydraulic pressure on mine comes off the pump and goes into a junction block. Then it has two lines that go to the loader valve and one line goes to the rear of the tractor. I don't know if this block is anything special or not. I will look in...

I'll check the draft adjustments and stuff and make sure they are per the book.
