My appologies, I was responding to the wrong problem. I took the complete hydralic manifold to a repair facility. He too took the detent apart and found nothing wrong. I put it back together and had the same problem. Went back to the repair guy and he suggested a new detent kit ($166.) that...

Mine would jump out of float. It may not make sense but the problem stopped when I fixed the vibration. THe entire manifold and joy stick would shake like crazy.

I noticed a bad vibration at the joy stick and discovered a bad ujoint at the mid PTO. Replaced it and solved the problem.

I ended up pulling the front PTO frame. Eight bolts and done. thanks

Both collars are on the forward (front) side of the bearings.

I need to remove the cowling under the seat/front. To do this I need to remove the plastic pressed on knobs for seat adjustment and rear implement speed. Any idea how to get them off without destroying them? 2004 B2910

I replaced the tach cable which was not the problem. The tach is erratic and howls like crazy. The photo above is the unit I have. Intigrated in the dash board.

I have been to several sites looking for a new tachometer for my 2910. None of the sites display a picture but all of then have the same factory (Kubota) part number. So I ordered one and of course it's wrong. Anybody else experienced this?

I replaced the cable finally, it was not broken. Now the tach is erratic. Guess that means the tach is bad.

Replaced a noisy tach cable, now the tach is erratic and even goes backward when engine is revved. Any ideas?

It's 5 degrees. Started tractor to move snow. Tachometer went wide open and stuck and there's a howling that appears to be under the dash cowling. Could it be the tach? I'm not sure how it is driven or operates. Everything else works.

Via a post back in February it was determined I had a detent issue (Wolfman). I watched the video online how to repair the detent valve and took it (both) apart today. I can find nothing wrong with the parts so I cleaned things up and put it back together. Still have the same problem so the...

Wolfman, you out there? Attached are pics of my controls. I watched a video on u-tube for removal and replacement of the valve spring and ball bearings but I'm not sure what to look for unless the unit is virtually destroyed. It looks like about $150 for parts so I would hate to guess.....thanks.

Is this what you are looking for or do I need to remove the whole assembly?
