    Stuck in the mud

I've gotten stuck several times, the first being during the initial 'lets see what trouble I can cause' run with my brand new BX25D within ten minutes of delivery.. Since then, multiple times it was riding on the belly pan (glad I got the BXExpanded pan on before my first foray) and the ground...

    Operation in sand

Sand travel requires speed to stay on the surface and not sink or flotation tires. Better still, spread Portland cement on top....

Suspected Oil Cooler Leak - How to fix "spring clip" joint?

Oring should do it, noting looks bent. As long as the pipes are square to one another and appear undamaged, the oring will most likely fix you up. Over time, they harden and deform, losing elasticity.

Interesting Observation - Fact or Fiction

For 10 years, my little BX lived in a tent. Soaked with humidity. Covered with pollen. I finally built a top tier shop. Nice and dry (no hvac....yet) real lighting, even WiFi. Still gets cold. But, it appears the tractor starts better and does not spew a little soot on start. When I built the...

    Lx 2620 broken glass

Don't pry. Use dental floss (or the special ribbon the glass people use) to cut the adhesive. You pry, you risk bending the steel.

How do I NOT Break This??

Heloise hint. Since an oring seals it, there is no need to make it tight, just snug. Screw on until resistance is felt and about 1/4 more turn is all it needs. You don't want to crush the oring. Being rubber, it will not vibrate loose. Over tightened, not only makes it very hard to remove but...

BX throttle handle knob keeps falling off.

A solvent that will weaken the plastic (like PVC cleaner before the purple stuff), wiped around the inside then put the knob on and rap lightly will work too.,

How about some 140w gear oil in the front diff?

Higher weight oil does not also mean more shear resistant. Heavier oil just does not flow as easier as thinner oil or you can say thinner oil flows too easy, if you like. Shear resistance is a property of the molecule chain length. Gear oil can be the same weight as 'engine' oil but has a higher...

    flat (book) rate service

I had been in the industry, at dealers and at the OEM. Some mechanics can beat flat rate 90% of the time and all work they do, they get paid flat rate. Some routinely beat flat rate by 100% and got paid for 16 hours work in an eight hour day. The n00bs get straight time and the customer is...

Broke casting on backhoe and backhoe leaking

I'm thinking that since I'll never need the swing lock, by stuffing a cork in it will prevent me from absent-mindedly putting the lock pin in it instead of the boom lock. I already did this once and the boom fell over time.

    My loader won’t stay up?

If... you want to 'hold something up', that is what a hoist is for. Lifting with a tractor should only be done when there is an operator in the seat and the engine running. Some loaders and many BH have 'transport pins'. that are inserted before the engine is shut down to 'lock in place the...
