    Hydraulic fluid from trans vent

I'll preface my response by saying...I'm no expert, but I have dealt with this issue and received help right here on this forum. So I'll pass along what I learned in hopes it helps. To answer your question, it does sound like my issue. With that said...installing a new pump at $600 parts only...

    Hydraulic fluid from trans vent

I'm not sure because the hour meter broke about 10 years ago, but my guesstimate would be in 2200 range.

    Hydraulic fluid from trans vent

I'm not familar with your M9000, but on my little B21 I had the same issue...fluid from the vent, small amount of engine oil in the hydraulic fluid and also a loss of prime to the hydraulic pump after sitting in cold weather. After doing just about everything you did the problem persisted, then...

back hoe and Ballast in tires, a bad combination?

Kubota does not say no...exactly. They say "Do Not" for the front tires and "Should Not" for the rears w/BH. There is a reason for that wording...I'm not sure what it is, but it's not an accident or a typo. I've got a B21 that has been ballasted in the rears from day one with no problems. With...

    B8200 suction line issues?

Re: B200 suction line issues? I believe that I read on here that oil can go either way. Don't quote me, but I seem to remember someone having the engine oil sump filling with hydro fluid. If your engine oil is still fairly clean it might be hard to see a quart of it in the hydraulic reservoir...

    B8200 suction line issues?

Re: B200 suction line issues? That sounds like sucking air to me, but I'll add another possibility. I got help here a couple years ago when my little B21 had similar symptoms, after changing out the suction inlet hose those symptoms disappeared...for a while. 6 months later it was doing the...

    Tractor Overheating

Another easy way to identify exhaust gases pushing into the cooling system is to look for exhaust residue inside the radiator and or recovery tank. Wipe a finger inside the top of the radiator, if it come back black...that's bad news.

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

It was stiff and brittle feeling. On the side up against the block (unable to visualize) there was a SLIGHT amount wetness that was dusted over. I didn't stretch it to look for cracks though. HUGE improvement in performance! Thanks again!

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

Update: New suction hose and O ring arrived late yesterday. I then put the fork attachment on the front and loaded it with logs to the point that it would just lift the load. At 2600 rpm it would only lift that load 14" in 12 seconds. After replacing the suction hose and O ring this morning it...

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

Like I said...I'm an amateur here, so bear with me on terminology and questions. From the FEL control block there are 4 lines, no QCs. I'm sure I can figure out how to adapt in a gauge. My questions are: Should the gauge be T'd into the line so as not to block flow? Which Line? Hoist cylinder...

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

When I said "feel" I was referring to the 40-50% loss, the guesstimate was on the percentage. I'm 100% certain it does not have the capacity it once did. I thank you for the help. I'll get a set of gauges and see where it's at and go from there. Can anyone help out with a link to doing a test on...

I think I work too cheap.

For me...When it's a job that has you on and off the tractor, saw work, hand work, ect... I'd look at it and say "How long is this going to take me and how much do I need to make me happy?" Then give the customer a bid that is just north of that. If they want to counter...fine. If they...

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

I ran this test and there was no change in FEL lift capacity. The suction hose has no outward signs of leakage, but it is original to the tractor and is stiff and a brittle feeling. I ordered a new one and O ring from Messick's. I will put them on and retest, if there is no change I suppose...

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

If there were a restriction at one of the backhoe QCs would that also effect FEL performance?

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

Do I need a bypass or can I just connect the 2 lines going to and from the backhoe to the 2 lines for the 3 point? They are the same type QC.

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

I'll order a new O ring and "S" suction hose. Even if it turns out to be the pump I'd replace them anyway. Thanks

    B21 loosing hydraulic performance

My B21 has approximately 1600 hours (hourmeter broken) and it has served me very well. Most of the hours have been fairly easy homeowner type stuff, but over the last 2 years I've worked it hard removing 500 trees from my property (Sierra Nevada bark beetle kill). A lot of those hours it was...
