SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Final update: got the part in from the dealer (male coupler on the white hose), swapped it in, and I'm back in business! Took the opportunity to also replace the hydraulic fluid and both filters (HST and oil/suction). Thanks to everyone here, especially Dan, for walking me through the diagnosis...

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Looking close, the pin on the male nipple is slightly off-center, and from the test (above), is definitively confirmed to be the culprit. Thanks for the help!

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Test result success! With female coupler end detached from white hose, the loader did lift successfully, and fluid emptied into the bucket. Up and down bucket functioned, as did the float function. The white male coupler end also appeared to leak fluid during the down bucket operation. To...

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Thanks for this explanation of the ball/pintle. Having just replaced the female quick coupler end on both of the hoses on that loop, does that suggest the male end might be the issue? It appears the flow from cylinder back (female coupler side) to valve (male coupler) on the white loop might...

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Correct on the quarter inching valve. I'll keep it in neutral position for the test -- I understand it now and will get that done in a couple hours. Question re: float -- does that function just open a circuit through the valve between the rod end (white) and cylinder end (yellow) hoses to...

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

OK -- just checking before I do this: I traced the hose that connects to the "rod end" of the bucket raise cylinder to the white line. So for this test, I'll disconnect the quick-connect for the white hose, remove the female coupler from the hose (one of the two that I just replaced), and run...

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Great questions! Not certain, but I think the raise bucket motion was getting gradually slower over a few weeks (infrequently used). One day I really noticed it was super sluggish, which led me to investigate. Everything else has been normal -- curl and dump is all fine. 3pt goes up and down...

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

No special equipment, just the standard loader/joystick and 3pt. Am I right in guessing it's likely a block in the yellow work port? If not at the quick coupler, where else might I locate the block to clear it?

SOLVED: Loader raising slow all of a sudden

I was thrilled to find this old thread (https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/update-fixed-loader-raising-slow-all-of-a-sudden.57937/) because I'm having the exact same issue as GunnerBob, with the exact same model (B3300SU w/loader LA504). I tried what worked for him without luck...

Update: FIXED Loader raising slow all of a sudden

Same problem here, but the fix of replacing the white&yellow quick couplers didn't work for me. Started a fresh thread here with my question: https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/loader-raising-slow-all-of-a-sudden.68951/ Kirk

    Loaded tire, now flat

OP here with an update. After several tries (air alone; ratchet strap + air; exploding ether, etc.) I was finally able to reseat the bead on the tire in the field. What finally worked was using Murphy's Tire Soap (really goopy vegetable product, just packed it around the rims), ratchet...

    Loaded tire, now flat

I checked my original invoice, and it is indeed "Rimguard". Sounds like nothing toxic or anything I should be worried about having spilled all over. Bead is definitely off, tire completely loose around rim. I'm thinking the advice to remove the wheel and take it to a tire shop for reseating...

    Loaded tire, now flat

I have a B3300su with loaded rear tires. One day I used the tractor to push some snow around, and then a few days later I took it out to snowblow early in the morning (pitch dark) and couldn't get any traction with it, everything just spinning around, and I had to leave it outside where it was...

    Snowblower PTO shaft alignment

Ended up going with new ujoint at tractor end, as well as all the suggestions of rAzkid, and tried it out. Works great, no clunking anymore! Will look into new driveshaft someday, but this is probably doing to be a light-duty implement for me in SE Michigan. Thanks for all the help, everyone.

    Snowblower PTO shaft alignment

Is there a way to size the u-joint needed before disassembly or are these pretty standard sizes? Edit: spent 90 minutes pounding the darn thing out, but got it out and have now identified the part #. Link here if this is useful for anyone else...

    Snowblower PTO shaft alignment

Picture of outer/inner shafts. Inner is 15.5", outer is only 10". Overlap is ~7" when fully extended, 8" when in shorter (raised) position. Good news is that the u-joint nearest the implement seems pretty good -- no play and it's easy to move all directions. The U-joint on the tractor is...

    Snowblower PTO shaft alignment

Thanks, everyone! Good information, and I'll try all of this out and report back. PB has had several days to do its magic...

    Snowblower PTO shaft alignment

Good thought, but this shaft is slightly rectangular and only accepts the other half in two of the 90degree positions.

    Snowblower PTO shaft alignment

Good point. I just marked the shaft in both positions and measured the overlap: 8" when raised (works) and 7" when lowered (chatters). Shaft seems pretty tight, so I wouldn't imagine it's too short. Either way, I guess I would need to replace the PTO shaft? Looks like there may be a rusted...
