That's what we are gonna try, have another sending unit on a parts machine that was working when it was shutdown, hopefully it works. From there I guess we'll pressure test at the port, if new sender doesn't do it. Not to sure where to go from there but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

The dealer swapped the fuel injection pump from my parts machine over and the generator is not running away anymore. Having a issue with the electric fan not running, but got it going by direct wiring so must be a sensor or relay thing... But the main thing is gen is running good. Thanks for all...

got it back together and running. determined it was running on fuel while running away, can get it to shut down with fuel shutoff valve and controlling air until it burns fuel in the system. Pulled cover on fuel pump found rack to be stuck. Unstuck it, restarted engine, generator purred normal...

Yeah the machine shop pressure tested head said everything is good, they are going to put in new valve stem seals since we it apart. Ive never delved into the fuel injection system, I will look around for a diagram or something on line to help me understand it, thanks for the tips.

No we haven't disassembled pump or governor The guy helping me was convinced that once fuel was shut off directly behind the pump it should shut off, but this is kind of what I'm thinking at this point also. Especially if it is just lugging along without any air, probably could run on that fuel...

engine is a kubota-d1005-e3b

As per Kubota website, the engine is under 3year 3000 hour warranty, but only to the original purchaser so I guess I'm out of luck there.

Not made in China, hardi diesel was started by a guy in San diego, I think the company now farms them out to be assembled by a Kubota dealer in North Dakota.

Yeah I will do that, may as well ask, I'm sure either hours or me being second owner and no way of finding first owner would nullify warranty but I will ask, can't hurt. But if it is something simple I'd rather just fix it myself And start using the thing. Thanks
